About Me/ This is my first quilt

Hello! My name is Kris Orton

I was born in 1953. I have loved crafts for as long as I can remember, until I made my first quilt in 2005. Since then, I was hooked and gave up everything else. I have taught classes, done truck shows, I have a long arm and quilt for others but mostly myself. I belong to 2 quilt guilds and love my “BQFF’S” (best quilting friends forever).

Before Quilting:

I am married and we have 3 children, yours, (my beautiful and kind stepdaughter), mine, (My awesome son from my first marriage) and our sweet son together. We have 8 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and one granddaughter-in-law. We adore them all and we are lucky to have them all live within 20 minutes of us.

I worked for 13 years at the local SUU bookstore, first as a secretary and then as assistant manager. I quit to be the office manager and co-owner of our company, John Orton Excavating. We also own MCO Tire and Service. Through a series of events, I managed that store for 10 years.

I am retired and loving it. I finally get to do what I love!

I'm thrilled to share my love of quilting and my beautiful barndominium with quilters through these retreats.
